Hearty old-fashioned oats, sweet milk chocolate chips, and a hint of cinnamon make these Delicious Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies the perfect comfort cookie.

A Little Story Behind This Recipe
I grew up on Sam’s Club cookie variety packs. The package with chocolate chip, M&M, and oatmeal raisin cookies. Back in the day, Sam’s Club had the better cookies, now it’s Costco.
My dad was the only one that would eat the oatmeal raisin cookies because raisins don’t belong in cookies. I know, it’s hard for a few to understand, but it’s true.
I decided it was time to make an oatmeal cookie, but of course it had to have chocolate chips rather than raisins.
Using milk chocolate chips as the sweetness pairs well with the hearty oats. While testing this recipe I learned that using less flour and more oats creates a better balance in the cookie.

How to Make Delicious Oatmeal Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Cream butter and sugars: Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Once combined, add vanilla and mix for another 30 seconds.
- Dry ingredients: Add all-purpose flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon and mix until just combined. Slowly add old fashioned oats and milk chocolate chips.
- Bake: Roll dough into golf ball sized portions and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 350° (175° C) for 12-14 minutes.
